On October 3, 2023, the City of Watertown held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their newly renovated and expanded J.R. Lowell Elementary School, where the Lowell community got a first glance at their new school. The 94,279sf building, which includes 71,099sf of renovated space and a new 23,180sf, three-story addition, will accommodate 470 elementary school students in grades K-5. This successful project was a collaborative effort between Ai3, the City of Watertown, the Watertown School Department, the OPM (Hill International), and the General Contractor (CTA Construction Managers). Ai3 is excited for the students, staff, and community of Watertown, MA to enjoy all the amazing features of this sensitively renovated classic “schoolhouse on the hill.”
