The existing Waddington Elementary School project infuses 21st Century technology and amenities into an original single-story 1954 school building. The existing school is 25,600 square feet, with a two-story 34,300 square foot addition completed in the late 1970s. The 1970s addition features open classrooms with integrated lower-level breakout space within each classroom. The design will create new classrooms with a focus on accessibility upgrades, acoustical enhancements, and safety and security improvements. The faculty and staff are excited to see a new full-size gymnasium and support spaces as part of the project, which will enhance physical activities and programs for students and the community. The project will feature a comprehensive site upgrade, exterior envelope upgrades, a full replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and upgrades to life safety and fire protection systems.
